NaPoWriMo 2013 – 5 – Young Eyes.

Day 5 of NaPoWriMo 2015 and I have again raided my ‘Unfinished’ file. The first couple of lines of this are from 2010 and the rest from today … Enjoy.

I look into young eyes and see your future

Vast expanses of time stretch out before you child

No death popping its head over the horizon

But that time will come

Faster than you know

Experiences will come and pass

Learn from them all as you go

 

And I wonder at my own life

Of years passed and loss of innocence

Don’t follow my mistakes child

Take your life in unlined hands and grow

Learn from bad times as well as good

Take them as lessons, reap and sow

Treat people with respect child, but care also

If you love, love gently and with pure thought

Love is not possession, not ownership

But sharing. Giving, most of all.
