Day 3 of NaPoWriMo 2013 and here’s my 3rd poem. Enjoy.
Black wings folding in my mind
Grasping grey talons ever tightening
Grasping my heart
Stifling life and happiness from my cold tortured soul.
Suffocating any hope, any future
And yet I smile.
It may be painted on my face
True in appearance but false in intent
Just there to hide the torment within
The sadness I dare not show
The tears that cannot run
I will not allow them
All emotion I must banish from
All words become meaningless in my dry mouth
Myriad thoughts within my mind become as nothing on my lips
And it will be this man’s destiny
To be alone.
